think what people are trying to express here is not hat there is no homophobia in the UK - far from it, as we know - but that being gay is no barrier to being a working actor and to being cast in family-orientated shows. Plenty of discrimination out there, no doubt, but not in that particular profession. The OP wishes it was like that, in order to spice up her RP ship with a bit of discrimination drama.
