(Anonymous) 2013-09-02 03:53 am (UTC)(link)One is bisexual anyway and one thinks, quite rightly, that his private life is none of your business. All he needs to do for you is act, what with that being his job and all. He doesn't owe you a tour of his house as well. If I was well-known, i'd do my best to keep entitled fans out of my business too. Write your fic about people who don't care about having their personal lives up for comment.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-01 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)"In a 2002 interview, Evans said, "Everybody knew me as a gay man, and in my life in London I never tried to hide it" and that by being open he would not have "that skeleton in the closet they can rattle out". In 2004, he said his acting career had not suffered by being out. In September 2010, a female PR executive said she was dating Evans: "Luke's lovely – we're really old friends and it just sort of happened... We are nowhere near engaged but things are really good."
Do you mean the Andrew Scott who is active in LGBT rights, has a long-term partner but does not give interviews about his private life or his partner's identity because he thinks it's no-one's business? That's not closeted - that's maintaining a boundary around your home life that you're comfortable with.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-02 07:00 am (UTC)(link)I haven't read anything on him in a while, so I don't know if he's ever denied it, but his situation doesn't seem so much to be a case of once identifying as gay, now identifying as bisexual. He was very very out as a gay man, but since he started getting higher profile roles, he seems to have stopped talking about his personal life and as I recall his publicist or someone has said some questionable things that come off as 'Forget everything he said in the past, he wasn't thinking, he's straight straight straight.' It all seems really dodgy.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-02 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)think what people are trying to express here is not hat there is no homophobia in the UK - far from it, as we know - but that being gay is no barrier to being a working actor and to being cast in family-orientated shows. Plenty of discrimination out there, no doubt, but not in that particular profession. The OP wishes it was like that, in order to spice up her RP ship with a bit of discrimination drama.
