The selective service objectors are just pure spite MRAs. They don't care about equality, they've just found one of the incredibly few ways that women actually get a fairer deal and are using its existence to bash the whole idea of sexual equality. They would brick their briefs at the thought of being called up, and instead of finding a better way, they just want women to have a brown underwear moment too. Basically the usual MRA cowardice masquerading as SJ.

I mean, I'm seriously considering signing up for the army, sure, but at the same time, I don't believe anyone should have to sign up for the military/leave themselves open to being drafted. And I consider that a separate issue entirely from women in the military, as I believe the military is where all soldiers should be placed under the same expectations, regardless of sex or gender.

Like, yeah, there are a lot of MRA assholes who just use it for their own spite, but they are far from the majority of draft protestors.

You are right! It's not fair.

However, it's not evidence of *pervasive* discrimination against men - especially given that it came about because of discrimination against women.

Exactly. It's an excellent example of sexism against men (well, actually, it's more an example of how sexism against women, i.e. "women are too weak to fight", can harm men as much or even more so than women), but MRAs who bring it up usually only do so as a silencing tactic against feminist discussion. As if feminists are the ones who masterminded selective service.
