Has anyone here ever gotten lice? Itchy little fuckers aren't they?

Twice in elementary school. But I always felt like the cure was worse than the disease: the first time I ended up getting alcohol dumped all over my scalp and it freakin' burned; I remember that way more vividly than the itching. By the second time, thankfully, my parents got actual anti-lice shampoo and everything.

There's anti-lice shampoo? I remember having this thing of aluminum foil doused in vinegar, then put on my head.

Technically yes, but a lot of strains have become resistant to it.

Oh, yes, and fuck them. I hate lice.

I had them about two years ago, and I had to disinfect all my shit, bag it up for half a year or boil it or put it in rubbing alcohol, and my hair is super thick so I had to get 10 inches cut off of it just so my mom could get the anti-lice medicine worked through all of it (after which I showered and washed like 30 dead lice down the drain). I've been growing my hair since 6th grade (more than 10 years) and losing so much of it at once was...not cool.

It's just now getting back to the length it was then.

Yup - and I got the lovely strain that's resistant to lice meds. Though, I can say from experience, the mayonnaise method does work and makes your hair look *great*...even if it does make sleeping a little interesting.

Decades ago. Long before the resistant strains came around, thankfully. Although the cure then was to dump pesticides on our heads, which have since been outlawed. So.
