Re: Following on tumblr

I used to follow someone like this and about a year ago they started smearing people who unfollowed them. They're also the only BNF for my tiny fandom and spend all of their time on tumblr, so they were usually the first person to post something new (pics, ep descriptions, etc). A couple of us who were sick of their behavior started posting the new stuff even they had posted it first. They couldn't contact any of us because by then we all had them blocked and disabled anon messages, so they made a sock to hassle us for posting things they'd already posted. We'd just say we didn't know because we had them blocked. After about a month, their posts were getting less than half the notes the same posts we made after them did. I checked their blog several times while all this was going on and they had a lot of posts, sometimes only 5 minutes apart, saying they were crying over how they were being bullied and we were all terrible people and oops there go another 7 followers. I always thought the follower/unfollower counts were inflated (they never once posted a pic of their follower count and were only in our little fandom) and things just didn't add up. But I do believe that a bunch of us ignoring them did make them cry. I feel kinda bad in the sense of I don't want to make someone cry, but I also feel good in the sense that our tiny fandom was being crushed by a bully and we found a way to stop that from happening without becoming bullies ourselves.

oh god anon, that all sounds horrible D: I hate it when people try to bully others.

I recently had my own drama where someone reblogged a post of mine with no comment but some rude tags, so I told them their tags were rude. I didn't expect a reply but they exploded, changed their username, deleted the reblog, sent "anons" at me, made several posts on their tumblr about how I had "no right" to call them out on their tags, ranted about this is why they hate people/hate fandoms, that you're not meant to see the tags, apparently lost followers over it and got lots of angry

It was rather baffling actually.

tl;dr There are some really crazy people on tumblr.

It was woah.
