Oh, I dunno, maybe because some of us ENJOYED IT FOR WHAT IT WAS?

I hated the K/S crap in teh film, but I adored what we got of Bones, I loved the action, I, dare I say it, loved Khan, and I adored Scotty. Also, Uhura's badass moments.

It was a fun movie.

Now, I have no idea what he's said about it and the like, quite frankly, I don't give a shit. I just liked the movie.

So piss off.

FOR WHAT IT WAS????

I like you otakugal15, but, no...
Nobody should like it for what it was. Maybe some scenes were likable, but for what it was overall? Ugh.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-03 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no, someone I like likes something I don't.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-03 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahahaha, what is this comment?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-03 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
As ridiculous as the one it was responding to.

Keep defending a retarded movie, then. You're doing a good job.

:)

Dude, chill the fuck out.

"I like you so, don't go liking something I don't"

.... Right.

Can you explain what you saw that made Uhura a badass?

And while I applaud Cumberbatch's acting, that was *not* Khan. And it discomforts me to know that they made the character out to be a terrorist when that's not what the original Khan was and then hid behind the whole, "Oh, we didn't want to cast anyone of color for the role to avoid stereotyping" when the easiest thing to do would have him be some random new guy who was what they said he was in the beginning. The whole "he's Khan" thing was just useless. How is some guy from the 1990s going to be able to outdo their geniuses contemporary scientists on space travel and weaponry? The original Khan didn't understand that space ships are more like submarines than land armies and that's pretty much why he lost in WOK. None of this was Khan's personality nor history nor reason for having been written into Trek - so why did they make him Khan? I guess that's the main thing that gets me with this movie, they didn't need to do this, so why did they?

I don't mean to sound like I'm attacking you, I'm really more crying into my hands, "please, someone make this movie better for me by explaining some of this stuff in a way I can stomach."

(Anonymous) 2013-09-04 12:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with you - I liked the film, but why he had to be Khan was beyond me. I know, it was just a publicity thing, but he could have been any other character and it would have a) made more sense and b) been more interesting.

I'm still just sad that Karl Urban was bullshitting about Cumberbatch playing Gary Mitchell. Now, that would have been a great film (in my mind, anyway)

Can you explain what you saw that made Uhura a badass?

NAYRT but lol dude that's the girl that faced a group of klingons alone and she like risked her life to save Kirk, Spock and those other guys ass. If it were for Kirk alone they become sausage made by the klingons.
She also saved Spock's ass in the end (and technically Kirk's as well)

maybe because some of us ENJOYED IT FOR WHAT IT WAS

Thank you! They are pretty solid movies as they are regardless of being Trek or not, and as you said quite fun.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-04 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't have said 'solid' so much as 'dense'.
