So...what is it you want to talk about Syria?

Personally, I think this whole US, "We need to send a warning to Syria" is less about Syria and more about Russia. The Russia government has been rattling its sabers lately and going Iron Curtain with its mentality. I feel like this going to be The Cold War v. 2.0

It's not the Cold War, for Pete's sake, it's great power politics the way it's always been (or at the very least the way it's been since the invention of the nation state). It's (mostly) China, Russia, and the US doing what great powers have always done. To a lesser extent the EU as well. It's as much the Great Game as it is the Iron Curtain.

Seconding the anon above me; it feels less like the Cold War 2.0 and more like The Great Game 2.0, only with more international players.

And don't forget the regional power plays! Yay neighboring countries. *sarcasm*
