Oddly, I think I managed to kind of be "that one meta guy" in my fandom - I don't think I'm terribly well-known, though. And I've definitely pissed several people off by questioning the fandom's mindless acceptance of certain things.

But yeah, my most popular meta post has ~120 notes, last I checked. Granted, it's a slow accumulation, but there are people on tumblr who like and appreciate a good analysis. (Especially if it doesn't criticize their favorite character/pairing - I think I managed to acquire a pet hater who leaves trite, empty insults anonymously in my askbox every time I dare speak ill of the fandom's precious babies.)

I'd take an anon hater anytime if it meant that I would also get actual reactions from people besides a like or a short acknowledgement ("Oh, interesting" or "This is why I like this character" or "OTP forever").
