so you reject a "sjw" secret but approve one that uses a transphobic term like "tranny"?

Well if you think about it, there's pretty good reason somebody would keep something offensive like that a secret. Possibly even because it's offensive.

Compare that to something demanding that Batman be a POC woman in the new movies because white cishet male scum et cetera, and I'd say there's a difference.

Contrary to popular belief, I'm not here to police what opinions are appropriate to have! Only to do my best at guessing at which secrets could possibly be legitimate and to stop wank if it gets out of hand (wank that I generally don't take sides in, for the similar reasons).

It's not so much the opinion that people are objecting to, but rather the slur used to express the opinion. I think that's kind of a legit objection; is there a formal policy on the use of slurs in secrets?

No, there isn't. I don't think I can do that without wading into what is/is not appropriate and what does/does not offend people, and I'd rather not get into that huge conversation.

Just because I post something doesn't mean I approve of it, of course, and it never meant that. I'm not sure why this is suddenly being assumed to be true as of now. Take it out on the OP if you like!

Would you post a secret that called a black man a "nigger"? Because they are on the same basic level of offense.

If it seemed legitimate, I probably would, yes. (This isn't an excuse to flood next week with offensive secrets, by the way - if there's a sudden flood of them it'll be pretty obvious the intent is just to see what gets by, which lessens the legitimacy.)

There was a Django secret way back that used that word and got posted.

secrets containing slurs aren't necessarily blatant and boring trolls like I'm guessing the SJW ones are. we've had legitimate secrets that were pretty un-politically correct before (ones that were far more offensive than the one in question) and I imagine we'll have them in the future

idk idk, I know this has come up in the past, and I don't necessarily think slurs should automatically go in the linked section but shouldn't slurs get filtered into the trigger warning section at least? I know you can't just do that for any random trigger or w/e when it's not marked and that's totally fine, but slurs aren't exactly random triggers either.
