(Anonymous) 2013-09-07 12:33 am (UTC)(link)So I would call it some professional sensibility to keep things separate. Just because they're stupid enough to think using a RL name makes their sides more "real" doesn't mean we all will
i.e. I did argue with someone online recently and they were using their real name, with their company listed on their tumblr and I didn't point it out, but all I could think was "when people google your name or company, they're going to see our giant argument (including their several combo racist+ignorance comments) and may choose a different company wtf"
So yeah, I think using your real name is stupid - unless it's like your political twitter or professional tumblr - go pseudonyms!
