Is it because he's the tallest that you want him to be the oldest?

Not OP but it could be because he always was the oldest before the movies came out a few ears ago.

Alvin is the oldest of his brothers (it was revealed in the episode "Grounded Chipmunk" when he made the statement "I've never been alone, except those five minutes before Simon was born").

I don't know that episode but I know Dave said many times that Simon was responsible for Alvin and Theodore because he was the oldest.

Not the OP, but I always thought he was older because he was smarter. Alvin seemed like the bratty little sibling to me (and I say that as the bratty little sibling of my family).

I don't think it ever occurred to me that they might be triplets.
