I'm just starting to listen this and have no idea about what's going on in the fandom, except, you know, the Cecil/Carlos shipping. Can someone enlighten me?

If you don't draw Carlos as super dark skinned (even though they don't actually say dark skinned in the show) and (sometimes trans), YOU ARE WRONG.

If you draw Cecil as white, YOU ARE WRONG.

That is the gist.

I see. Would be easy to just not support these arts instead of rant. Maybe prompt a 'certain Carlos' to some fanartist.

You know what is even weirder than that? I drew Cecil with the head cannon of him being German, Native American and Portuguese that is often mistaken for Italian (dark hair, olive skinned and a strong nose) and someone took my design and redrew him with brown skin and said it was based off my design. Speaking as someone from a Mediterranean family, olive =/= brown. (Oh, they didn't even give him a strong nose.)

I am flattered they liked my design but to go, "Nope. Olive skin isn't good enough" is weird.

I've seen none of the you-can't-draw-Cecil-white people. Hell, white Cecil seems to be the most popular headcanon.

I have but I am deep in fandom looking for the best art. From what I can tell it's backlash at the fact blond white Cecil is the most common.

But yeah, seems to be normal back lash but with race as the main focus. So you won't see it much unless you go looking for it.

Even claimed that drawing Cecil as white was whitewashing. No idea what happened to them now though.

There was actually a "Welcome to White Vale" blog put up to protest all the white!Cecil fanart, but Tumblr pulled it.
