Have you ever shipped a pairing that got sunk by canon but you preferred it to the canon pairing? What is the pairing? (I hope this makes sense!)

I gradually warmed up to Chuck/Sarah (on Chuck) as the writing for both Sarah and the pairing got more solid and consistent, but my heart still belongs to Sarah/Casey.

Yes...pretty much every pairing I've ever shipped excepted maybe the Hetalia ones [and that's only because no ships get sunk there. SO.]

Harry/Luna. I knew it would never happen, but they balance each other really well, and Harry struck me as happier and more relaxed with her than anyone else.

I wish it had been canon so badly

I have no strong opinions about Harry Potter except that this ship desperately needed to be endgame.

I would have shipped that if I didn't have such a soft spot for Luna/Neville.

I just re-read HP like 3 days ago and Harry/Luna jumped out at me in a way it never did first time round. I've become a shipper like 10 years too late.

Um...Katniss and Gale. But I'm not getting into any of that.

I liked the two of them until the third book, but I think that was more the fault of me not liking the third book than anything else.

When I first read the Hunger Games, I really liked the pairing.

I still love this pairing, but I love it mostly in AU settings where the last couple of books didn't happen. Or just... things went differently. Because as it happened in canon, I'm almost weirdly happy she ended up with Peeta, even if I find him boring as fuck and don't ship them. By the end of Mockingjay they were all just so fucked up.

I prefer Katniss/Gale earlier in the series, because that's when I feel their personalities just meshed well together. I almost wish the story would follow the story that was set up in the teaser trailer for Catching Fire. It was more Katniss/Gale and it was all about the rebellion, not a reboot of the first film with new players.

Yes and no. My ship (Castiel/Anna, SPN) was sunk by canon, but by Anna's death, not another ship. There is no canon pairing (though some fans vehemently argue that point.) I do still prefer mine over the most popular fanon ships, however.

As far as I'm concerned the New 52 does not exist, Clark is still married to Lois, and he definitely did NOT start dating Diana (because according to DC an ordinary human woman is not "worthy" of Superman). No, that totally didn't happen. At all. Ever.

I'm primarily a femmeslasher, so...yeah. My number one OTP is Janeway/7, which never had a snowball's chance in hell of ever happening, but damned if I care.

femmeslash is super underrated

Probably about half my pairings? But I really don't give a shit if they're canon or not so I'm good.

Ummm the most recent example I can think of is Korra and Bolin. Honestly most of my problem is when people go "It's not canon, our ship won!" okay? like if it's canon or not really affects what I ship? Piss off and let me have my fun

Are Korra and Mako even likely to stay together?

I had a secret no-chance-in-hell liking for Parker/Nate on Leverage

they are each a different but complementary flavor of crazy

it would have been gloriously destructive and over-the-top, beautiful in the way an explosion is beautiful

Jack/Elizabeth, especially after the deliciousness that was Dead Man's Chest and fucking hell if I didn't come out that film expecting it to actually happen...
