On the one hand: I totally feel you. I have this whole big series outlined, but the first two installments got like five reviews each, which considering the amount of time I put into them is extremely depressing. :(

BUT...on the other hand, I once wrote a fic for which there was essentially no fandom, which got about 20 PAGEVIEWS, never mind reviews, but the one review I got was something like "I've been waiting 30 years to read this fic about these characters. Thank you." which, frankly, made it seem pretty worth it.

That would be an awesome review to get. Yes, I mostly write for myself, but it's so nice when someone actually says thanks.
