I love disney but I don't get the obsession w/princesses specifically. I always liked Tinkerbell more anyway, I thought she had the prettiest dress out of them all.

I think the non-princess heroines don't get enough love. I love Wendy,Esmeralda and Megara, but they don't get enough love.

OMG yes Megara! Definitely one of the most interesting Disney heroines, personality-wise. I loved her dress as well, purple being my favorite color.

Well Esmeralda is sometimes inculded as some sort of "gypsy" princess.
And considering Megara gets together with the son of the boss of Gods, it would make her some sort of princess as well, I guess?

I really like aurora and mulan, but as a kid I was always more into the animal movies. lady and the tramp is my favourite disney movie to this day.

that said, I definitely don't see a problem with little girls looking up to the princesses rather than batman or whatever (which is what I think the secret was talking about). I don't really even get why people feel the need to "justify" liking the princesses by saying that they were all strong and brave and adventurous and whatnot--I don't think there's anything wrong with not being like that.
