This. I literally laughed the first time I heard it defined. It seems like about two-thirds of the human race is "demisexual."

This! The first time I heard about demisexuality, I was like, "You like to know people very well before sex, which is different from most people how?"

Because having sex is a choice and sexual attraction isn't, and demisexuality describes the latter and not the former?

na

Sexual = can fap to porn, demisexual = can't fap to porn because they don't feel aroused by the bodies of people they have no (platonic or romantic) relationship with. That's how my girlfriend explained it to me.

I wonder how some people are not able to get this concept? It seems logical to me. And I consider myself to be very slow.

da

Okay, and this needs a label because...?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-10 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
so that straight people can wank about how they're totally queer and oppressed.

what if the person is gay?

i'm gonna go with people want labels to better understand themselves and others

(Anonymous) 2013-09-10 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
That's...totally stupid. "Doesn't get off to porn" is a minority status now?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-10 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
ayrt

No? It's just a word that describes something (as words tend to do). It's a concept that makes sense to me. I never said I agreed with people who use it as a legit sexuality and an oppressed one at that. Never heard of demiphobes either. Just people who think it means slut-shaming :P

I can't fap to porn because it doesn't do anything (and, in fact, masturbation is just always really unfulfilling for me). But I'm a big ole slut.

So can I have my own sexuality now too? Like, a needanotherpersontogetoffsexual?

I serially get super into celebrities and think they're hotter than the sun, then suddenly go off them entirely for no discernable reason. I'm ficklesexual, and I think I deserve a stripe on the rainbow flag. The stripe should change colour depending on whimsy.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-10 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
okay so how if you can fap to porn because of the movements and simulations but you don't find either of the actors attractive?
