Man, that image really pisses me off, 'cause why the hell is Ariel wearing pink?

Oh, right, there was a secret there, too, wasn't there? Um, I agree.

Pretty sure she wears a pink dress in the original film.

Yeah, she did, when she went to that first dinner with Eric. (what, it was my favorite movie when I was a kid, okay)

She wore a blue dress with a corset later. That was my favorite (I was never a fan of pink. I also hate that everybody shows Aurora with the pink dress when the blue one is obviously so much better. I liked Merriweather the best out of the fairies too... :) )

Uh, anyway, yeah, she wears a pink dress in the original film and the only other actual "ball gown" she wears is the white wedding dress with poofy sleeves.

da

her blue dress was my favorite too

There's the sparkly 80's dress she wears after her father transforms her and she's walking out of the water.

I don't know why everyone always forget about it. It sure made an impression on me as a kid.

Yeah, but I don't really think of that as a "ball gown". It's a slinky dress.

what

that's

that's literally just a sparkly version of the dress she wore in the movie

I'm going to be honest, it's been way, way too long since I've seen this movie, so I had completely forgotten about that dress. My main objection to her wearing pink, however, has more to do with her hair color than keeping to canon. It's just never looked right to me.

i suppose they went with that one because it's the closest to a "princess" dress; she had the blue skirt/white shirt/black corset thing that was nice but wasn't very princessy, or her wedding dress. i mean, agreed, she looks like a piece of cotton candy in it, but i always thought it was cute.

I never saw the problem with the pink dress. It's basically same color, different saturation.
