I think, rather, than not discussing it, the better choice is probably to talk about it and if anyone gives you shit for describing it wrong, tell them to go to hell. Because it'll make you a lot happier in the long run, and really, anyone who wants to be an ass about that sort of thing isn't worth worrying about.

To add: the kind of people who bother you about it online are a bit unlikely to actually say something in person. They might write something angry on their tumblr about you but you'll never see it.

People like that are often cowards.
