(Anonymous) 2013-09-10 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)Anyway, for my part, I have no interest in Paula Deen's brand -- I don't cook, I hate cooking, and I resent celebrity-branded cookware -- so I wouldn't be her fan even if she never did anything obnoxious. Amanda Palmer has made at least one song I enjoy.
Paula Deen is now a joke, who did something most people agree was wrong and who fails to recognize the seriousness of it. People treat her as a joke. (Or maybe that's my sources.) Amanda Palmer is the target of really vicious hatred in some fandom circles.
I feel mildly sorry for Paula Deen the way I would for almost anyone whose life crashed and burned. I'm considering buying Amanda Palmer's music just to spite the people who think she's the Antichrist.
