My Sunsugar vines are still producing like crazy (I probably have another half pint to a pint on the vines right now), and I've got some Pineapples coming on right now. Can't wait for them to ripen!

Have you tried a Great White? I've one in the fridge from the farmer's market, and it looks so good.

I've never heard of a Great White. I'm actually pretty terrible with variety names, the only ones I know are Rutgers, Ramapo, beefsteak, Purple Cherokee, Brandywine, tomato berry garden and sweet 100s.

My favorite are the grape tomatoes though, I eat them like candy while I'm at the market working.

I've been trying to get my family to eat tomatoes other than reds, and they've gotten interested in my Yellow Boys, my Pineapples (they're pale yellow with green and red stripes and taste kinda sweet), the Cherokee Purples (Mom thinks its one of the better tomatoes she'd ever eaten), and my Sunsugars are cherry tomatoes that are ripe when they're orangey-gold. My favorite of the cherry tomatoes!

maybe the sunsugar are these yellow ones we have at the market this year. I'm a terrible employee that I don't know all of the produce we have, but I know what is yummy?

I'm happy to see so many other people love tomatoes too! Besides tomatoes, my absolute favorite thing is fresh corn. If the corn is fresh, you can actually eat it raw and it's soooooo good.

They could be. They're about the size of a Muscadine grape, and are a little sweeter (to me) than most cherry tomatoes. I know there's another yellow cherry tomato, but I can't remember what it's called! It has sun in the name, too, though.

My Mom and I usually have a bunch of different vines between our houses. This year, I wound up with four or five of the Sunsugars (one or two were volunteers), and the Pineapples, plus my Yellow Boys, and she has a Hillbilly, a Pineapple, a few Early Girls, and a weird volunteer that appears to be a cross between a Sunsugar and a Roma. :D I know we didn't buy it!

That's an awesome mix of tomatoes! I don't grow any at my house, simply because I can get everything either from the farm I work for or any one of the other farmers at the market.

If you're looking for a good red tomato variety, I love the ramapo tomato. It's a very red tomato and fairly flavorful.

And I always try to get at least one or two new ones to try each year (this year it was the Hillbilly, which wound up at Mom's house). Which makes my family crazy, until they try what I get. :D

Ramapo? Is it good for canning, cooking or eating? We need some good canning tomatoes.

Here are some quick links about the Ramapo. I use it mostly for good sandwich tomatoes and as this is my first time making tomato sauce, I can't tell you if one variety is better than others. But the ramapo is a very tasty tomato and very red inside.
