For an embarrassingly long time when someone said they shipped Harry Styles, I thought they meant some weird Harry Potter/Teen Wolf crossover Harry/Stiles. In retrospect: *FACEPALM*

I loved his dismissive comments about fanfiction. He sounded like a douche, but I loved it because it was a reminder to fandom that most people not involved in it find it REALLY FUCKING WEIRD.

I feel like people recently have been forgetting that fantasizing about Will getting pregnant with Hannibal's babies ISN'T a hobby as socially acceptable as playing squash or bike riding and it's killing me with second hand embarrassment.

I don't know what will be harder... Leaving the fandom I've been in for over fifteen years, or telling my best friend I'm not seeing her at the next con.

Nominations

Nominations will run almost the same as they did last year ([link to a Nominations tutorial]), with some new changes. This year, the amount of fandoms you can nominate is 4 instead of 3. [Text highlighted by the secret maker] We are also trying out an experiment in which fandom nominations will only be approved if 2 or more people nominate them. [End highlighted text] This is to control the tag list bloat that happens every year and strains both the archive and signups (which no one, outside or inside of Yuletide, wants). It also gives us a tentative positive sign that there are at least two people who want to request or offer said fandom.

Reviewing and approval/rejection of nominations will be done after the nominations period during cleanup week.]

This post made me hate the new moderators. Especially the "Oh no, people are disagreeing with us! Let's freeze the thread!" cowardice.

Even if they get rid of the rule, I will never ever trust them again. They have no business even participating in Yuletide, much less running it!

Secret: I want to quit. It's burning me out.

Bonus secret: The only reason I'm not quitting is because the only people who volunteer to take over are the power-hungry drama queens that already cause all the wank and I know they will run everything into the ground.

Sometimes, when I run, I imagine this beautiful guy is running with me. I just like the idea of his quiet encouragement.

They're not a perfect parallel, but the songs "Defying Gravity" and "For Good" make me think of Griffith and Guts's relationship.

After reading the original Holmes canon, the BBC version feels like an angsty teenage rendition. I'm pretty sure if canon Holmes ever met BBC Holmes, he'd laugh at him. And I definitely like canon Holmes better.

When you're fifteen and writing self insert fic it's a learning process. Cute even. Harmless fun, no different to pretending to go on adventures with Dora as a toddler.

When you're in your twenties it's creepy and weird.

The tinhatters are yet another level of f-ed up and should probably be locked up.
