I was being sarcastic. Insisting that people in fandom all are weird perverts is like saying everyone who likes cars have mechanophilia.

Fandom does have more that sex and weird stuff and it's sad that even fans forget that.

Fandom doesn't even just have to be about fanfic. I like fanfic but I prefer long conversations about canon myself.

Yep, I was about to say that. Granted, I have some half-assed fanfic in stumbling progress when I'm not struggling with original fiction, but I'd rather knock down a new anthology or novel than to read fanfic of stuff from last year.
