I don't think so. Hell, ever since I saw a blogger I follow jokingly call himself one (for still being enthusiastic about things most people stop caring about at a certain age), I don't even think it has to have negative connotations in all contexts.

Like, I'll call someone a manchild if they're acting like a whiny baby. But I also might say something like "gah, you manchild!" to a dude who just made a hilarious immature joke, or is just acting overly playful or something.
