Getting drinks with a friend of mine after work. Just messaged me saying that a bunch of his friends who I don't know that well, or in some cases don't care for, are going to come too. And it's annoying because, I mean, there's nothing I can say to object to it without seeming like I'm being unreasonable, and it also just changes the whole social dynamic - now instead of hanging with someone I know really well, it's going to be a big crowd situation where I'm kind of the outsider.

Not really a big deal, but it's kind of annoying.

I get this, so much. And it's almost impossible to explain because you feel like that person who's trying to kill the party. I call it introvert problems. May not be restricted to introverts, I don't know.

I don't know if I'd call it an introvert problem. I'm more an extrovert and I hate when I'm expecting to hang out with one or two people I know and then it turns into a thing with people I don't know because now I have to curb my personality until I get more comfortable.

Aw, man. I hate that. I don't really do good in groups anyway and end up just kind of sitting there staring at my drink until I make an excuse to leave.

No, I'm going to go. It's something that I can do. It's just going to be less enjoyable. Instead of being relaxing, it's going to be something that's a least partially a burden. But, I mean, hey, at least there'll be beer, I guess.

Go, have a drink, say you don't feel well/have to be up early/whatever and book. No need to subject yourself to a whole night of unpleasantness if you don't have to.
