I think standard blood tests generally test the levels of stuff normally in your blood [electrolytes, potassium, etc].

However, it sounds like they might be doing something a bit different since they're looking for something specific so it may be a different type of blood test. Best way to know would be to either ask the doctor who ordered them [preferably asking them] or the people who are going to be drawing the blood.
