IAWTC. Especially since he seems aware of the impropriety in the first film, when he transfers her to a different ship to avoid the appearance of partiality (and then gives in when she pushes him - good job on the impartiality, there, dude).

THIS SO MUCH. Like what? I get that this Spock is more in touch with his human side, but that was like a 360 turn in a span of seconds. It's not like the impropriety goes away, just because they're on a bigger ship (in fact then he is above her in rank as well, so I doubt that would be looked upon with a smile in a military like setting). She should have never been his student in the first place. It just doesn't make sense.
