This seems as good a place as any to air a really big pet peeve of mine: the vast majority of people that draw “fat” girl characters as an exercise in body acceptance still overwhelmingly tend to draw them with very hourglass-y figures, which would be okay (because some fat girls are in fact hourglass-y) except for the fact that they are also overwhelmingly drawn with thin necks and ridiculously (literally impossibly) tiny ankles/feet and wrists/hands to still give the sense of delicacy. Not to mention that they’re rarely shown with any sort of folds or rolls.

Like, draw fat girls, please, but don’t shy away from it. If you’re gonna draw fat girls, draw fat girls.

Fat girl with folds, rolls, and teeny ankles and wrists here. We exist.

I'm talking about cartoonishly tiny, literally impossible. Like one-inch-around tiny.

Fair enough, then.

That sounds a bit like my old peeve with The Sims 2. The "fat" setting on S2 was crap "Hollywood Fat" that I (a fat person) don't consider all that big. I was relieved when S3 came out and the fat slider made sims properly fat as in obese, not just "I put on a couple of pounds! My life is over!" fat.

I just hope the realistic fat scale is present in S4 (though I trust them to keep the good ideas collected over the years of S3).
