I don't want to sound rude, but the video of Baby Got Back only showcases conventionally beautiful, fit ladies with hard bodies - the only exception being their round behinds. It says so in the lyrics as well: "itty-bitty waist but a round thing in your face".

If you look anything like that I totally envy you. Just saying.

I read about an informal study that demonstrated that nearly half of adult women [at this one college campus in the U.S. - I said it was informal] tend to be closer to a "column" shape than any other body type. That is, they may have a defined waist that is smaller than their bust or hips, but the difference in proportions isn't as extreme as it is with a proper hourglass figure. According to this study, hourglasses are actually only something like 8% of the population. (Most of the rest are apples or pears with some miscellaneous types thrown in.)

Now, that's something that makes me feel good about my body. It has become abundantly clear that I will never be the classic 36"-24"-36" because while I can give you one of those at a time, I cannot do all three at once. Gain enough weight for a 36" bust and have a waistline much bigger than 24". Loose enough weight for a 24" waist (highly unlikely to be feasible for me, anyway) and say bye-bye to that 36" bust. I can never win, but apparently most women can't.

That does make me feel better. I've got a 27" waist but I lost most of my tits and ass to get to that size. So yeah, I might have a smaller waist, but I didn't get to keep my ~womanly features~ that men supposedly drool over. You can't win.

At 38-26-38 and being 5'3", 125-130lbs I have one of those hourglass figures that makes clothes shopping an absolute nightmare. I wouldn't wish this shape on anyone. I'm dead fucking serious. Bra shopping? Not with my broad shoulders, tiny waistband and large cup size where my tits decide that gravity doesn't exist for them. The bra that fits me the best (a 30G) cost me 148$. Pants that WON'T gape in the back? Yeah, OK. Skinny jeans that AREN'T stretch? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAno. Fitting into a medium top? Oh, sure, if you don't mind your tits exploding out of that v-neck or scoop top.

Having people automatically decide that you're a whore if you wear anything remotely tight (protip: that's going to be your whole wardrobe if you don't want to look your Mom) and have a bunch of gross dudes leering at you all the fucking time? Oh yeah, that's definitely what I want.

I hate it.
