I haven't watched this show so I'm not going to get into the actual debate for these particular characters but you have hit upon a huge pet peeve of mine. I hate how most of Hollywood depicts adoption. If an adopted character is introduced I immediately expect disappointment. Being proven right so often is not as satisfying as it sounds.

Also, sorry about your biological parent turning out to be a fuckhead. Shit like that is just another reason I'm happy I still haven't contacted mine. Hopefully you can find a way to cut her out of your life again and move on. :/
