Pretty much my number one pet peeve with the fat acceptance movement

On one hand, I agree that body-shaming sucks and all that jazz. On the other hand, so much of the fat acceptance movement seems to hinge on trite sayings about all body types (or appearances in general), with out any depth or consideration to it.

Like, I'm glad you think I'm beautiful, but you have no idea what I look like, how can I take you seriously on that?

I know that I'm coming along late here but that drives me up a wall. I'm so tired of people telling me I'm "beautiful" when they've never fucking seen me. It just doesn't have any meaning.

(I gave up and lost weight. I still look like crap because it accentuated every wrinkle in my face though, so ... I'm in no position to be against fat acceptance either.)
