Oh I wouldn't say the worst, it doesn't have Jar-jar for example, but its the worst SF movie that doesn't have a Jar-Jar Binks in it.

Come on there has to be a worse science fiction movie than that

there are some really, really awful SF movies out there

Yeah every time I think that, I go to youtube and find a clip of Jar_jar and all of a sudden the movie in question just isn't that bad any more. I remain convinced that Jar jar was designed to make the ewoks look cool by comparison.

I have no idea why anyone would need to make the Ewoks look cool, they were cool already.

After Earth is really really bad, I like the idea behind it (humans returning to an abandonded earth) but nnrnng James Cameron but I figured Will Smith could save it through acting and no, no he couldn't it was a really bad movie

ugh. hated it.

Really, Phantom Menace was worse than Battlefield Earth?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
OMG, Battlefield Earth. I'd almost successfully removed that from my brain, and I'm now having a flashback. Everything is off-kilter, and John Travolta is prancing around in platforms and sneering. Help me!

Stay with us!

Now, the important thing is to stay calm. The horror should pass soon, but if you continue to see your surroundings in strange lighting or at an angle, the only solution is to pour yourself a strong drink. A minimum of 60 proof is the recommended dosage.

I'd take 100 Jar Jars over Cumberbatch's Khan any day.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-14 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
REALLY? Cumberbatch was the highlight of that movie for me. God Kirk and Spock's acting (I don't remember that actor's names) were so over the top. It was like someone showed them William Shatner's acting (http://youtu.be/RAvRBDQqSmY) and told them to emulate it.

At least Cumberbatch has heard of a thing called subtlety.

[personal profile] thezmage 2013-09-14 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
If only he had heard of a little thing called acting. Subtlety is great, but you should be slightly less subtle than a stone statue.

Same here.
