Writing a CV and a cover letter terrifies me
I think I'm a terrible and boring person and this is why I have only one friend
I also think my classmates think I'm mentally challenged

I cannot write cover letters at all. I just don't know what to say. "Um...hi ...I'd like to get hired."

To make things worse I'm working toward an English major. I can write a defense of a fictional character but I can't write a cover letter.

I hear you, anon. What I suggest is even jusatcold calling people and saying, "Hey, I saw your ad on (insert site here) and I wanted to know if you were hiring." Often resumes and cover lrtters are so (relatively) impersonal, they're thrown away without a thought. People always respond better to a voice.

Obvs it won't work all the time, but I got my current (casual) job that way.
I mean, you still need to have a resume but at least you're not shouting into a void sending cover letter after tailored cover letter and getting nothing.
