Re: yoga

I've been to a few yoga classes and, especially beginner classes, often aren't really full of the kind of people you're expecting. It's pretty varied, and yoga is the kind of thing where there won't really be many times in the class where you're at liberty to look around and inspect other people's bodies-- it's supposed to be about focusing on your own body, so if someone is looking at you and judging you they're probably having a shitty time at the class/pretty insecure themselves.

The culture is probably different at different yoga places, though. A lot of them seem to offer trial classes, so you could probably go to a bunch of those at different studios (even if they don't advertise trial classes they might give you one anyway if you just call and ask, and maybe even explain that you're not sure you'll feel comfortable in a class because of your weight. You're probably not the first person to have this concern.)

Good luck! I hope you find something that works out for you!
