I was pretty much meh about Hank until he pulled that stunt in the diner where he wanted Skyler to go on the record about Walt. Here you have your sister-in-law who's in a very dangerous situation, who's been acting traumatized in your presence, who even tried to kill herself in front of you at one point, and who may be in fear for her life from her drug-kingpin husband and you just want evidence to catch the guy. If you care about her then how about getting her to a safehouse or otherwise making sure she and the kids are okay and out of that situation before you try to get her to do something that may put her and her family in more danger? No, it's all about catching Heisenberg and that whole ego-trip so many cops are famous for. He's taken Heisenberg being so close as a personal affront and now it's all about his manhood and who cares how he catches him so long as he does. He's the embodiment of the attitude of so many in the justice system these days where it's all about the collar and the conviction no matter the means that I can't help but hate him now.
