I don't bother to hide it, but I'm not very involved anyway. My mom doesn't like it, definitely wishes I weren't. I think it's funny because she's so adjacent to fan culture- her friends and area of work are generally kind of geeky. I've even read smut by someone who used to have her job.
She never explicitly says why she doesn't like it, just makes it clear she'd rather I didn't talk about it.
