Around those places I'm still "that one chick", but at least they recognize me. xD
However I am completely against pretending to like the most popular/best-selling games or feeling guilty about "girly" ones. If you really want to get in the gaming club-thing, at least be proud of being a gamer. You're surely not proud, if you're not proud of the games you like to start with.
In fact, if there are reasons why don't initially like some of the most popular games, discuss them. All the better.

(Anonymous) 2007-10-12 01:16 am (UTC)(link)Oh, no, I don't pretend to like anything - I buy what I want and play what I like. And I only feel a little guilty about my "girly" games. But, yeah, even that little bit of guilt is unhelpful.
Thanks for the advice.
Re: #10
Though, you'll be a-ok. Try out games in your best console, or with familiar gameplay. ^^
At least around here, gamers are pretty friendly and will watch or have a chat pretty easily. Didn't take long to be an usual player among them and be invited when peeps got together to play.
Try Super Smash Brothers? XD Easy to learn, hard to master, perfect for tourneys.
