Whether or not you keep the honor code is totally up to you and your conscience. But your last paragraph is confusing me slightly--are you saying you want to go to BYU because it will somehow stop you from doing MA fanart?

You're the only one that can stop yourself from drawing it. Sure, getting accepted and signing a piece of paper could be a catalyst, but you're the one, ultimately, who is going to have to decide for yourself what you do in your fandom life.

I'm loving how everyone is all, OMG HONOR CODE THEY'RE REPRESSING MEEEE.

I mean, I don't go to byu myself -- I'm at UVSC (uvusuck) - but yyeeaaahhh. It's not like they tie you to a chair and make sure you follow every single rule. It's up to the person.
