Well, it depends. I like to get their thoughts on certain matters, especially since I'm young and they have a better perspective on life, so I'll ask them about situations I've been through and what I should do. I tell them about my friends, because they like knowing that I get out and socialize.

But I never tell them what's going on with my medical issues. In fact, I only told my mom that I'd been hospitalized after I passed out and had a seizure when we had been discussing health insurance covering hospital visits, and she wanted to know why I knew so much. And this was like, a month and a half after it happened.

At least in terms of personal health, I don't think it's anybody's business but your own. You don't have to tell your parents shit about it, especially if they'll be more problematic than supportive.
