Because I do most of my fandom stuff through tumblr now I would like more discussion. It's one reason I'm really glad I still go here.

I'd like more... enthusiasm. Now it seems like everyone's vaguely alluding to how they feel and randomly posting fanfic chapters. Where's the fan in fandom? Where's the love, the squeeage? Everyone says it's tumblr but LJ is just as bad, and you can comment there. People just... don't.

wow really? My experience on tumblr is everyone squeeing all the time. Maybe I just have enthusiastic fandoms?

Well, or I didn't come across the right away. Because yeah, tumblr has squee, but it generally tends to be more isolated. Meanwhile on LJ, when I've tried discussing my thoughts on a latest episode, either I'm the only one who replied to the discussion post (or at least replied with something not totally OT past the first commercial), or if it's an entry I've started, nobody replies, and even my friends on LJ who share the same show don't say a word. So that's what I mean. tumblr probably has more, but it's less people coming together and discussion and more... personal reactions being shared.

More gen anything in certain fandoms - fanfics, fanart especially. In another certain fandom, I'd love more meta and character interpretation that doesn't sound like it was written by 13 year olds. Don't really care for roleplay.
