I personally get very bothered when kids are named after dead characters. Like in the One Piece fandom. Every time someone has Luffy name his son after his dead brother (instead of Meat or some other more Luffyish thing) or Zoro names his daughter after the dead girl whose life he's more or less been trying to live for her, it just gives me a creepy Replacement Goldfish vibe rather than the honoring of dead loved ones the author is probably trying for. And it also feels very, very lazy.
