OP
(Anonymous) 2013-09-18 12:57 am (UTC)(link)I mentioned several times in this thread that I have serious issues that I'm concerned about.
I mentioned upthread that I have problems with compulsive eating and the compulsive urge to physically punish myself when I feel guilty.
I'm legit concerned about my health. But I'm selfish for wanting help because it would "hurt my sisters" to have me sent away. How many times will I have to say that stuff.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-18 02:15 am (UTC)(link)I don't want to stay there forever like some people seem to think....just enough to sort out my issues.
Also.....I CAN'T leave. I was never allowed to drive and and need to consult someone in getting to go somewhere.

Spoken like someone fortunate enough to not be in a place of seriously poor fitness and health. In my case, I'm not saying it's anybody's fault but my own, it would take fare more than couple months to GET to a point where I could jog a couple miles each day, let alone to a point after that that would get me anywhere near acceptable fitness for the military.
And I'm not saying the military is a bad option for people who feel in a rut and have no ethical concerns about it (though it sounds like OP has other issues that preclude them from being deemed fit for service), I just want to point out the very...biased? I'm not sure what word I'm looking for here...notion that "a couple months of jogging" is an easy thing anybody can do and then be OK to give the military a shot.
