I'm bi, but I can understand how a straight person wouldn't want to read slash. A lot of fics in slash fandom involve characters' struggling with their sexuality. I personally like those types of stories because I can relate. I can understand how a straight person would be uninterested in that because they cannot relate to someone struggling with their sexuality.

I'm a lesbian, and *I* can't relate to those kind of stories. My sexuality has always made perfect sense to me. I'd rather read almost any other type of slash/femmeslash than that particular trope.

[SA] which is to say that I agree with you, completely. If someone reads fanfic for characters/stories that they can relate to, then I can def. understand how it wouldn't be worth it for many het people to slog through slash and femmeslash fics for the rare ones that aren't all about gayngst.
