Secret 6 - Japanese role-playing videogames, role-playing videogames

[Picture is an image of the upcoming role-playing videogame "Child of Light". It shows two small characters fighting against monsters atop stone pillars in a forest. It looks like one of the characters cast a spell with fireballs at the monsters.]

I find it hilarious how angry JRPG [Japanese role-playing game] fans get when you call a game that isn't Japanese a JRPG.

They're definitely a genre, and until we come up with a real name for it (cinematic RPG?), JRPG is the best term we have.
