Yeah how dare you call that similar looking game with similar plot formats and play style by the same name as those nearly identical games that really only differ by country of origin

...because the country of origin is part of the name.

There are a lot of films made in various European countries that mimic the style of American films, but you certainly wouldn't declare that, as a result, we should call them all American films.

...Except that this style has developed into an entire genre. So it would be like telling people you can't call what is very clearly a Western movie a western because it wasn't shot in the US.

We do use the term "spaghetti Western" for a Western filmed in Italy. Perhaps we can call American JRPGs "cheeseburger JRPGs."
