Maybe the new movie series will breathe some new blood into it. Its what happens in closed canon fandoms, they just end up spiraling inwards without new material to bring something new.

No, she wrote two spin off books for a UK charity way back in the day. Fantastic Beasts and Quidditch through the Ages (both are referenced in-universe) and these are now going to be adapted into movies. How, I dunno, but Warner Bros. say they've found a way. Apparently they are still working on Tales of Beedle the Bard, but she wrote it for a different charity, so there is a whole other rights issue.

Its been all over the internet for the last two weeks. I'm mildly surprised there haven't been secrets about it already.
