Re: When people find something funny that you don't.

This is really stupid, but I hate it when a show (usually sitcoms and the like) will have all kinds of crappy things happen to someone on their birthday/wedding day/some other day that is ideally supposed to be happy and it's supposed to be funny. Like, I remember there was a commercial for some comedy (Happy Endings, I think?) where one character's fiancee leaves him at the altar and the next shot is him driving his car with the 'Just Married' sign hanging off the back and sobbing and the whole thing was presented as if it was supposed to be funny, and instead it made me feel awful. I mean, the poor guy! He thought he was going to have a happy wedding day and then it didn't happen and now he's sobbing, why is that supposed to be funny? I actually can't watch any comedy when there's a wedding episode because I just know something supposedly wacky is going to happen that's going to make the characters mortified or miserable, and I cant find that funny.

In that instance I don't think it was supposed to be funny so much as... intentionally awkward. At least until it had been two weeks.

But I actually often have the same problem.
