Yes, this also exactly how I read this post too, but the completely rabid reactions above prove to me that some writers can indeed:

1) completely misinterpret comments and fly off the handle
2) be over-sensitive and get offended and defensive (or aggressive) for no reason

As a reader-only, I have long suspected that being a writer (a good one, capable of writing stuff that makes the reader want to thank the author and express their admiration) requires an artistic and creative touch which predisposes you to over-sensitivity. At least on some topics, which vary depending on the individual.
