This reminds me of a hilarious Christopher Titus bit where he talked about being on a date for the first time in twenty years (after his divorce), and how he didn't know that his old patented "move" actually came off as reallly really creepy:

Have you been spending lots of time in SPN Gossip? That will make you sad for fandom and for life. I find that if you're in your separate pairing/non-pairing sector of spn fandom, the hatred has less precedent.

I post my SPN fic in secret, far away from the fandom because of this. I don't get any feedback and probably annoy my not-SPN-fan friends, but I'm strangely content with this. :D
