I'd be willing to disagree. I feel like there are more canon gay couples in TV right now than interracial ones. No, I don't have facts to back that up an someone probably knows better. I don't watch that much TV, that's just the impression that I get.

I feel like there's quite a few with a WOC dating a white dude, but hardly any with a white woman dating a MOC (... is that an acroynm?). Also with the not watching much TV though.

On Suits, the main female love interest is biracial, with a white mother (I don't recall her job actually) and a lawyer black father.

I assume you mean Rachel Zane. They actually confirmed the character as biracial in canon? That's awesome! I may have to start watching the show again.

Her parents have actually been in episodes! Her dad more than her mom, but she showed up this season too. You have to stomach some douchey Mike for it though...

Yeah, maybe, but that's not what they're saying. They're saying that interracial gay couples are basically the rarest of rare breeds, more so even than interracial het couples. Which I think is perfectly accurate.

But you usually only get canon gay pairings with "token gay characters" who get introduced as "the gay guy/the lesbian". And those characters are often not very important. You hardly ever get a main character of initially undetermined sexuality and then it's revealed that they're gay and a slash pairing becomes canon. So maybe there are canon gay couples, but basically if you ship already existing characters in a slash ship and those characters have not been introduced as gay from the start, there's a zero chance your pairing will ever be canon. Which is not the case if you ship an interracial het couple that MIGHT at least happen.

I think the only time I've seen this is in Spartacus with Agron/Nasir. Which also happens to be an interracial couple.
