One of the reasons I loved Sailor Moon so much was that Usagi was full of fail, but she still saved the world. The secret is to surround yourself with competent people.

Is there going to be a third movie? I want more RDJ Holmes even though the movies aren't very Holmes-like.

Yup, there's a new one in production.

Incidentally, I'm seriously excited about comparing how Watson and Holmes reunite in this movie series vs in season 3 of BBC!Sherlock. (If I had to guess, BBC will be all about how amazingly clever Sherlock's death fake was, whereas this series will be all about Watson flipping out and knocking Holmes' face in over being lied to. But both of them will be super-slashy.)

I just headcanon that in this 'verse, Watson spent all of the Hiatus moping around and writing flowery odes to Holmes' genius case-solving from the early days in exaggeratedly worshipful and self-deprecating ways because he thought the guy was dead, while the police/the government/Mycroft wouldn't let him talk abut politically sensitive shit like the plots of the two movies, and ACD wouldn't let him submit all the ultra-gay stuff to a reputable magazine. :D

Actually, that was my headcanon long before these movies even started production, because my kid-self was always disappointed that most of the action and h/c in ACD's stories only lasted a couple of sentences or happened offscreen, so...*shrugs*
